Warm and friendly ancient farm that hosts guests excellently. Luxurious rooms, excellent breakfasts made from local ingredients, beautiful views and the farm family’s everyday activities — all this creates a special feeling and adds a little to the understanding of South Tyrol and its people.

Where to even begin?!? We had a lovely stay at Mesnerhof!! We loved Helga’s hospitality (and fun personality!!). The rooms were extremely clean. The bathrooms were very nice and updated. The beds were comfortable (our experience is that most beds in the region are firmer than we are used to but still comfortable). The natural wood interiors were beautiful. The view from the breakfast tables was to die for. And the breakfast spread was no joke. Every bit of it was delicious!! Needless to say, we really enjoyed Mesnerhof!read more

Dear Helga, dear Andreas, We are so grateful for this unforgettable dream vacation at your beautiful Mesnerhof. The two-week family vacation with our two daughters was very relaxing, warm, humorous and eventful. The farm is integrated into the beautiful surroundings of the Sciliar near the beautiful church of St. Konstantin. The little guests are offered insights into the daily work on the farm from day one. e.g. feeding ducks and fish at the idyllic pond, collecting eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop, as well as harvesting potatoes together including a ride on the tractor. The Mesnerhof is in a quiet location and offers children the opportunity to move freely and discover a lot. e.g. trampoline, playground with slide and tire swing, table football. The suite was new and extremely well maintained. The furnishings are high-quality, modern and convey a warm, feel-good atmosphere. Everything was thought out and we slept like logs. The scent of the pine suite will remain in our memories for a long time. The rich, delicious and relaxed breakfast with our own farm products and the impressive Sciliar backdrop was the perfect start to the day. The hosts always have an open ear for their guests. You always manage to adapt to the needs of your guests. Hiking tours, excursion tips, restaurant recommendations gave us the most wonderful vacation days. No wish went unheeded on your part. Our children were most excited about the animals. They especially took the loving German Shepherd Luxi to their hearts. Saying goodbye to the Mesnerhof was incredibly difficult for all family members. Our expectations were far exceeded and we will be back this year. Kind regards from Christin & Robert with Magdalena & Kätheread more

We stayed here for 3 nights over the epiphany period, everything was perfect! Mrs. Helga is very kind and helpful, the food is excellent, the rooms were clean and welcoming and the location is perfect to reach both Fié and Castelrotto in a few minutes and also very close to the cable car to reach the Alpe di Siusi. We will definitely be back if we get the chance.read more

Dear readers and everyone else, recessions are like banknotes - there's a lot of fake stuff floating around. Basically, I rarely write a recession. But now I want to knock one out for Mrs. Mair. We came here by accident on one of our guided South Tyrol motorcycle tours. In search of a cozy place to rest, with the possibility of enjoying a cup of coffee ☕️ as a guide, I saw a beautifully situated, inviting terrace in the middle of the green from the main road. Initially uncertain and with a touch of disappointment in our stomachs, we were warmly welcomed by a very polite lady, looking for an official entrance. That was probably Mrs. Mair herself! She invited us to take a seat, offered us coffee and showed up less than 5 minutes later with three coffees and delicious cake still steaming. After a break, during which we were informed about the accommodation options here at the Mesnerhof and other interesting information about the region, we unfortunately had to leave again. Ms. Mair thanked us for the nice get-together and didn't even want to be paid for the tasting!? How incredible is that, nowadays!? During the preparations for the departure we were also able to get to know a son of the house. While we did not use the regular services here, this supremely friendly service and hospitality calls for review. Even at the risk that other people looking for coffee will get the idea of scratching at the door there and Ms. Mair will be overrun with it. If that happens, I apologize in advance! Welcome - Perfect! Parking - Perfect! Motorbike parking space - Perfect! Location - Perfect! Hospitality - Perfect! Service - perfect! Dog Friendly - Perfect! "Petting Zoo" - Perfect! Photo opportunities - perfect! View - Perfect! Coziness - Perfect! Cleanliness - perfect! Prices - Perfect! Payment - Perfect! Departure - sad & too early! For all the reasons mentioned above, we have also threatened to come back with our guided motorcycle tours! Thanks to the whole, loving family, you are great! So, and the dear readers can now think about whether this recession is a bloom, well 😉?read more

The apartment was sparkling clean, all furnishings in top condition! The wood makes everything feel warm and homely, simply a very pleasant room climate. You can see how much effort has gone into it. The location below the Sciliar, yet sunny even in autumn - simply fantastic! Bus stops are also very close. No through traffic, here you can move freely and sleep absolutely peacefully. We had a fully furnished terrace with a view of St. Konstantin, probably the most beautiful little church in South Tyrol. And from the bedroom balcony you have the most beautiful view of the Sciliar! The farm is very well cared for, as are the animals to be discovered! You have to experience the breakfast with products from the farm, you don't want to stop munching. Andreas and Helga create an incredibly warm atmosphere that makes you forget how much work is behind it all. We were so thrilled with how we were welcomed and cared for. And if you like, you can also get involved in the farm work. That puts many a romantic fantasy about the life of the hosts straight, and afterwards you can appreciate everything that is on offer here even more. Thanks for these 10 days, it was the best vacation we've ever had!read more

The beautiful farm is located in a strategic position very close to the Alpe di Siusi, we were here in June and we were able to take advantage of the outdoor breakfast with the beautiful view of the Dolomites. The breakfast is typical, with genuine, seasonal products and most of them produced, such as jams, juices, speck, yoghurt. SUPER GOOD. Helga is a great host, very friendly, and puts guests at ease. “Seiser Alm” and Surroundings – Dolomites

Only 3,5 km from the MESNER FARM you find the funicular that takes you to the largest alpine pasture in Europe – the “Seiser Alm”.

It takes the “Seiser Alm funicular” only a few minutes to take you where the beauty of Nature can be touched with bare hands ….

The „Seiser Alm“ offers in each season a maximum of enjoyment and freedom of movement.
In Winter it consists in the many kilometres of well prepared tracks for cross-country skiing and downhill slopes, which are part of Dolomiten-Superskir-Circuit. In Summer the „Seiser Alm“ is probably the most favourite area for Hiking and Excursions

Kastelruther Spatzen

The well-known festival, the so called “Kastelruther-Spatzen-Fest” in October, attracts each year thousands of fans of the famous local band.

The new Golf Course in Seis can be easily be reached on foot, by bus or car.
With such a beautiful panoramic view as a backdrop, it can easily happen to forget, that you actually came for playing a round of golf.

Lake Völs, Schlern and „Tuffalm“

It takes only 20 minutes to reach Lake Völs.

The lake is wonderful for swimming or ice skating in winter but also an excellent starting point for excursions to the „Schlern“ or to a mountain pasture, called „Tuffalm”, which was awarded he title” Most beautiful Alpine Pasture in South Tirol” in 2007.

Strolling, Shopping and Culture

Visit the „Grödnertal“ and admire the craftsmanship of the Craftsmen from Gröden, visit the castle in „Prösels“ or drive to Bozen, the regional Capital, that lays just 15 km away and stroll through its enchanting streets.
Here you will find many cultural treasures, like the Ötzi Museum, the Messner Mountain Museum….
Also the city of Brixen, where the bishop resides, is worth a visit and offers many important sights, besides the typical atmosphere of a medieval city. Our farm is situated next to the romantic chapel of St. Constantine in an idyllic location between Siusi allo Sciliar (about 3 km) and Fiè allo Sciliar (3 km).

  • The village of Castelrotto is only a few minutes’ drive away.
  • Enjoy shopping, strolling, walking, and a visit to the weekly market or the church.
  • Siusi allo Sciliar, the spa village Fiè allo Sciliar and Castelrotto invite you to a variety of leisure activities.

  • The Alpe di Siusi cable car is located 2.5 km from the farm Mesnerhof. In the summer, more than 450 km of hiking trails await you here; and in the winter, you may enjoy over 150 km of ski slopes.
  • The lake of Fiè can be easily reached in 20 minutes by foot. With its unique setting it offers a popular swimming destination in summer and ice-skating venue in winter.
  • The public transport network is very well developed in South Tyrol.
  • The bus stop is located about 200 meters from the farm Mesnerhof. Every 30 minutes, a bus takes you to Bolzano, Fiè, Siusi, and Castelrotto.

Spring

in Fiè – Seiser Alm – Dolomites

Feel Nature awakening from the Winter lethargy and experience how the „Schlern“ Natural Reserve turns from a „Winter wonder land“ into a „Spring dream”. Share the happiness of our cows, which are now able to graze on blossoming pastures. At the Mesner Farm it is now time to plant lovingly the seeds for everything that is meant to grow and be harvested during summer.

Vegetables, salads, herbs, flowers and fruits are grown and tendered by us in a natural fashion before they reach the plates and please our palates. Feel the calmness and fill up with energy you will need for everyday life.

In late spring –early summer the traditional equestrian competition “Oswald von Wolkenstein Ritt” takes place. Dive into the world of the Middle Ages and be impressed by the tournament, whose competitions take place in different locations across the whole “Schlern”-area. Autumn holiday

Seiser Alm – Dolomites

Witness the colourful beauty of autumn and let yourself be treated with freshly harvested, healthy, natural fruits.

Ripe grapes and hefty apples wait to be picked and eaten. Tasting the new wine in pleasant company makes you forget all sorrow. This is the right place to experience the traditional „Törggelen“ trying out the new wine, meats and sausages from the own farm, together with fresh garden vegetables. The traditional food festivals, like „Strudel & Strudel Week“, “Knödelfestival” or the “Völser Kuchlkastl” are a must for gourmets.

It does not matter whether you decide to take a tour of the farms, visit the Ötzi –Museum in Bozen, the „Dolfiland“ in St. Ulrich, in the Grödner-Valley with its famous wood carvings….the variety of choices is as colourful as autumn itself.

Autumn is also the time when our cattle returns home. During summer a few thousand cows are put out to pasture on the „Schlern“ and in autumn the may return to their home stables, well fed with the summer grass, they ate during their „summer holiday“. The departure from the mountain pasture is a festive occasion and the animals are welcomed with music and a parade.

After the Blessing of the cattle the day ends with a festival and at the Mesner Farm we are waiting impatiently for our animals. Although it is sometimes difficult to tell, who was thirstier,: Men or animal….
